COURSE DESCRIPTION:

DURATION : 4 Years (3 Years + 1 Year Internship)

The course involves nutrition and diet-related reviews, clinical research, case studies, and other tools of specialized nutritional support. Clinical nutrition is concerned with therapeutic uses for nutrition, usually in medical settings, as part of a complete health care program. Clinical Nutritionists create effective nutrition plans aimed at disease prevention and treatment, strengthening of the immune system, and nourishment of the body. Subjects studied under this degree are - chemistry, biochemistry, food science and technology, dairy technology and polymer chemistry etc. People of the world are spending most of their time in offices since they are involved in inactive jobs which results in lack of exercise. This kind of life style increases the stress level. The first precautionary measure a person can take is a balanced and healthy diet.

CAREER PROSPECTS:

Such Nutritionists can be gainfully employed across fields such as colleges, research institutes, schools, companies, private or government hospitals, airlines, office cafeterias, yoga centers, maternity, governments health departments, athlete's camps, mass media sector, etc. Clinical Nutritionists professionally advice regarding promotion of healthy food habits. They may also work as private practitioners or private consultants.
